In 2011, company founder Hamilton Carrio graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelors degrees in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting. After thirteen years of experience in the landscape, golf course management, and construction industries, Hamilton decided to create Building Land & Agriculture Management based on the alignment of these experiences and education.

During his schooling, Hamilton worked at a local golf course and interned at Augusta National Golf Club upon graduation. Once this internship was complete, he accepted a position at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. as the Assistant Landscape Superintendent. There he worked for Spring Hill for almost six years as the eventual Campus Planner, spending much of his time working on projects related to campus landscape improvements, grounds maintenance, golf course improvements, dorm room and building renovations, landscape planning and design, athletic field management and improvements, and building facilities management.

In 2015, Hamilton and his family relocated to Hanover, MN where he spent two years in the landscape construction and snow removal industry, working for a local landscape contractor and a national engineering firm. As his family started to grow, relocation to warmer climates became inevitable. Hamilton relocated back home to Birmingham, AL in 2017 and worked as a Construction Superintendent for a Landscape general contractor, where he managed commercial and residential landscape projects for almost five years before creating BLAM.

His vision for this company was to create an environment where the best interests of the client, our staff, and the company were valued equally, and no one group received additional favor or advantages over the other. Utilizing principles of Landscape Architecture and Design, Landscape construction methods and management, Business Management, and Landscape Maintenance applications, our goal is to help clients understand the microclimate that exists at their property and come up with the best solutions within their budget for cohesive landscape installation. This enhances the health and well-being of the outdoor space and enables the landscape to thrive harmoniously in its existing conditions.
